Gundam Musou

This week we are finally getting a game for our software starved PS3's. Its none other than Gundam Musou. I am really excited to get my hands on this game. It includes alot of Gundams from the pre-SEED era including G Gundam, Gundam Wing (and it's not the Wing Zero Custom... thank god), Turn A Gundam and from the Universal Century it includes Gundams from Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam.

My sources tell me that the first run copies of Gundam Musou will include a limited edition RX-78. I don't know if its a figure or a model. Hopefully my pre-order is one of the first batch and I can get my RX-78. Scroll down for the trailer, its not hi-res though. You can go to this page and click the play button on the left to watch the same trailer but with better quality. Check back on Friday for impressions on the game.

Revoltech Ultra Magnus

Sorry about the lack of posts but my job is a soul sucker and I barely have time for anything. I finally received my Revoltech Ultra Magnus. It turns out that his is more like a promotional re-paint than a full blown Ultra Magnus figure.

It comes packaged in the same packaging as the Revoltech Optimus Prime much like the EVA-01 glow in the dark Revoltech that I have. The Ultra Magnus comes with a special handshake hand that is molded in white and blue so that you can pose Ultra magnus and Optimus Prime shaking hands. I haven't taken mine out of the packaging but I am assuming that its 99.9% like the Optimus Prime one so I think it will stay in its nice little box. I don't know about the availability of the Ultra Magnus since it was a promotional thing. HLJ lists it as discontinued but Big Bad Toy Store has it in stock right now.

1/144 Verde Buster Pre-Build Complete

The Verde Buster is now complete,at least the pre-build, and its now ready for paint. I am still waiting on the arrival of my paint booth. Like I had said before, these little kits put the seed 1/100 kits to shame. The legs pose way better than any Seed 1/100 that I have built. In the meantime I will start prepping the paint and if the weather gets better here i'll take care of the priming outside. Until then i'll leave you with pics of the completed body.

1/144 Verde Buster Update 5

On the final stretch towards completion of the Verde Buster pre-build phase. I didn't have much time last night so I only got a chance to complete 1 rail cannon and the torso mechanism to hold the rail cannons. The only thing left are the right rail cannon and the left shoulder cannon, it should be done tonight.

After doing some research online I found out the Mr Surfacer 500 is great for filling seams. I have been using the plastic cement method (applying cement and squeezing) but I never got it to fill the seams completely. So what I tried with this model was using Mr Surfacer 500 and it works great. All you do is run some Mr Surfacer 500 with a brush onto the seam. It dries quickly, so after its dry, you just sand it lightly and your seam is ready and filled.

1/144 Verde Buster Update 4

Progress is coming along nicely with the Buster. The left leg was completed today and now the only things missing are the rail cannons and the left shoulder cannon. I am getting better at filling the seams as I go along. I came along a way of filling the seams pretty quickly and with great results, I'll post about it tomorrow.

1/144 Verde Buster Update 3

Completed the right leg today, it's taking me a little it longer than expected with all of the seams that his kit has. It's turning out pretty nice and once the booth arrives I'll work on the paint.

1/144 Verde Buster Update

Sorry for the lack of posts but I have been super busy with work... Anyway, I managed to make some time for my 1/144 Verde Buster. Completed the left arm and part of the waist. I say "part" because its sill missing the mechanism for the rail cannons. I also performed a mod that is a must for all 1/144 models, I split the skirt armor so that they move independently of each other.

On an unrelated note, I ordered my spray booth today. Surprisingly it was cheaper from a US retailer, the only downside is that it was a special order and I have to wait 2 weeks for it to arrive. By the time the spray booth arrives the pre-building phase of the Buster should be complete and it should be ready for paint by then.

1/144 Verde Buster

Back in September when I started this blog, the main idea was to showcase the models that I had built. Long story short, the blog has focused on other things than on Gundam building. So I have decided to return back to modeling by building (in my opinion) the coolest Gundam out of the C.E. 73 Stargazer series, the 1/144 Verde Buster.

I love these little 1/144 models, they put the 1/100 SEED Destiny models to shame in terms of articulation. I will be getting my paint booth soon so I decided that in the meantime I should get the pre-building out of the way. I can't paint outside right now since it's below 0 degrees outside.

I am taking care of all the seams so the end result shouldn't look that bad. The one thing that I noticed is that the Verde Buster will require insane amounts of masking, especially in the arms. I'll see how bad it is when painting time comes around. It should be done in about a week, at least the pre-building phase. I'll post pics as the progress continues.

MG God Gundam (a.k.a. Burning Gundam)

From the weirdest Gundam series ever... I got the MG God Gundam, they called this one Burning Gundam in the US because apparently its offensive to some people to hear the word god, the Devil Gundam was called Dark Gundam. The Gundam designs from G Gundam never really attracted me but the possability that this kit has is nice. Plus its a mobile fighter meaning that you can do all those kung fu poses. This is the only one that I will get from the G Gundam line. If Bandai could only make one more weird MG model, I would ask for the Turn A Gundam.
